Radius cranks give you options like no other cranks can.
Spindle
The spindle is a BB30 standard spline, so it is commonly used on both mountain bikes and road bikes. There are plenty of spindles out there like RaceFace, SI, Cannondale, Easton, Ignite Components and others that work. We offer the option of one being included in the kit or not. By changing out spindles, they can switch from road bike to mountain bike to gravel bike. The large diameter axle is stiff and light weight.
Crank Extractors
The cranks have titanium bolt covers that act as crank extractors when the included bolts with 8mm hex are backed out. The bolt cover uses an oversized hex pattern that accepts the included hex 5/8" wrench stock. The bolt cover can be removed with a 5/8" or 16mm wrench, socket, or adjustable wrench. The large hole minimizes weight while still allowing crank tightening in the field.
Multiple Length Options
Crank Lengths: The cranks are offered in standard lengths of 165mm, 170mm, and 175mm. We also can make custom lengths from 150mm to 180mm at extra cost.
Chainring Adaptability
Our unique drive spline is one that fits our direct drive chainrings, SRAM 8 bolt, spiders in 110mm 5 bolt, 130mm 5 bolt, or 104mm 4 bolt, or our Adapt-R's to convert our original spline to other popular splines like RaceFace, SRAM 3 bolt, HollowGram, FSA, E Thirteen, Absolute Black, Wolf Tooth, Easton, Hope, and others. There are some good chainrings out there; this allows you to use the chainrings you have.
Chainline Adjustment
We have a preload adjuster for the left side and a spindle spacer kit for the right side to be able to fine adjust your chainline. The spacers are in 0.5mm, 1mm, 2mm, and 3mm widths so you can get any spacing between 0.5mm and 6.5mm.
What’s Included:
- Titanium crank arms
- Bolt covers
- Bolt washers
- Aluminum spindle (or not)
- Bolts
- Retainer ring
- Spindle spacers
- Preload adjuster
The 170mm set with all of the above components weighs in at 451 grams.
Finishing Options
Finish is Brushed (directional sanded) at normal cost.
Our other big option is to have an integral titanium spindle. The spindle is press fit then welded directly to the left cup, so we eliminate the need for a bolt and bolt cover on that side. The titanium spindle option will be stiffer and lighter than the aluminum version and the spindle is available in custom lengths! The options are different, so it can be ordered HERE
